Lifts & Orthotics
When evaluating postural stresses for patients, we look to the feet for stability of the spine & pelvis. When patients present with pronation (rolling in of the ankle) of the feet, uneven arch patterns, extremely flat or fallen arches (resulting in internally rotated legs and hips), then orthotics are usually recommended. Orthotics are also recommended when patients present with foot pain such as plantar fasciitis or achilleas, and other ankle tendon strains.
Another common occurrence is uneven leg length. Depending on how great the leg discrepancy is, a heel lift can be added to the patient’s shoes, to balance the leg length and pelvis which is the foundation for optimal spinal alignment.
We provide complementary in-house 3D foot scans, to evaluate for foot dysfunction and can create fully fitted custom orthotics. Some insurance plans cover this service, ask us to check your benefits.
